Our commitment to privacy

Online privacy and security is very important to the Michigan 4-H Foundation. This online privacy statement is intended to inform you of the ways in which the Michigan 4-H Foundation website collects information, the uses to which that information will be put, and the ways in which we protect information you choose to provide us.

Security information

The Michigan 4-H Foundation uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to keep your personal information as secure as possible. When we collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted securely. You can verify this by looking for “https” and/or a closed lock icon at the beginning of the address of the web page. We have partnered with Blackbaud, a leading nonprofit solution provider, to offer safe and secure credit and debit card transactions for our donors. Once your transaction has been completed, your credit card number is not retained.

If you prefer, you may mail your donation to 446 West Circle Dr., East Lansing, MI 48824. Gift forms are available to download here.

Personal information

When we ask for your personal contact information (for a donation, for requesting information, or for registering for events), we use the contact information to provide you with confirmation of your gift, confirmation of your event registration, the information you request, or to verify information. Donor information is shared with Michigan State University for donor recognition purposes. We do not provide, sell or rent information to others outside of Michigan State University.

Choice/opt-out

You may voluntarily provide information by completing request forms and/or surveys and/or by sending email to addresses present on our website. Individuals that sign up to receive Michigan 4-H Foundation electronic communications voluntarily provide us with contact information (such as name and e-mail address). We may use this information for specific purposes. At any time, you have the option to opt-out of any electronic communications.

Third party tracking technology

We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous website visitor usage information for statistical website metrics. Information collected may include, but is not limited to your IP address, operating system and browser, referring and exit pages and URLs, date and time, amount of time spent on particular pages, search terms and technical information about your mobile device. This lets us see which of our online features are the most popular so we can better serve our users’ needs. It also lets us provide aggregate data about our traffic (not identifying you personally, but showing how many visitors used which features, for example). You can opt out of Google Analytics without affecting how you visit our site – for more information on opting out of being tracked by Google Analytics across all websites you use, visit this Google page.
