Sponsoring 4-H Volunteer Training Workshops
at Kettunen Center

About Kettunen Center 4-H Workshops

Each year since 1961, thousands of Michigan 4-H volunteers and older teens, Extension staff members and resource persons have attended Michigan 4-H’s skill-building workshops. Most are conducted at Kettunen Center, the Michigan 4-H Foundation’s full-service conference center near Tustin.

Annually up to 17 weekend 4-H workshops are offered to introduce volunteers to new learning models and materials to help make their work with young people in their local communities easier. These sessions also include opportunities for volunteers to discuss the work they are doing in their communities with people from around the state.

Sponsoring a 4-H Workshop

Businesses, organizations and individuals may sponsor 4-H training workshops that are aligned with their business/personal interests. With the generosity of sponsors, 4-H has been able to provide partial scholarships for these workshops that reduce the registration cost by more than 60% for 4-H volunteers and youth. There are about 17 statewide workshops held annually with each workshop offering audience capacity of up to 200 people. View the 4-H workshop schedule.
