Mission
The Michigan 4-H Foundation supports Michigan 4-H Youth Development to prepare youth for meaningful and productive lives.
The Michigan 4-H Foundation is a public foundation headquartered in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. The foundation is licensed to solicit charitable gifts by the state of Michigan (MICS 2751) for the support of Michigan 4-H Youth Development. The foundation is a direct partner of Michigan 4-H Youth Development which is a program of Michigan State University Extension. The foundation:

Provides grants to state and local 4-H programs for the development of new youth development programs in Michigan communities, the training and development of adult and older teen volunteers and to continue successful ongoing 4-H programming.

Seeks and manages private gifts and grants that support the Michigan 4-H Children's Garden, the nation's premier garden site for children which opened in 1993.

Owns and operates Kettunen Center, the state 4-H youth development training and retreat center located on 160 acres in Tustin, Michigan.
A report containing the percentage of charitable contributions expended on program, administration, and fundraising is available upon request.
Security information
Our online forms can receive private information across the public Internet. Donate to the Michigan 4-H Foundation online with confidence. Every credit card donation is encrypted (scrambled) using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Secure URLs (Uniform Resource Locators) are constructed using "https" instead of simply "http." If your browser is Firefox 2, the web address will have a yellow background and a locked padlock will be next to the web address indicating the page is secured and auththenticated by Thawte, our SSL provider. If your browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, you will see a locked yellow padlock next to the web address at the top of the screen. Older versions of browsers may indicate the web page is secure by a locked padlock in the lower right hand of the browser screen.
We have partnered with Authorize.Net, a leading payment gateway since 1996, to offer safe and secure credit and debit card transactions for our donors. The Authorize.Net Payment Gateway manages the complex routing of sensitive donor information through the credit card and electronic check processing networks (see an online payments diagram).
If you prefer, we can process your transaction by phone, fax or mail. Call us at (517) 353-6692 during our business hours 8 a.m.-5 p.m. M-F, fax us at (517) 432-3310 or mail your order to 240 Spartan Way, East Lansing, MI 48824-6005.
Personal information
When we ask for your personal information (for a donation, for requesting information, or for registering for events), we use the contact information to provide you with confirmation of your gift, confirmation of your event registration, the information you request, or to verify information. Donor information is shared with Michigan State University for donor recognition purposes.
Donor benefits
Upon donation to the Michigan 4-H Foundation, you become a member of the Michigan 4-H Foundation. All members receive the foundation's newsletter, Vantage. See Member benefits for additional details.
