Friends
of Kettunen Center:
$25–$124
With a gift of at least $25 a year, you can become a friend of Kettunen Center. Your gift will help build on the quality, service and opportunities that Kettunen Center provides for 4-H and Michigan. Friends of Kettunen Center are invited to an annual event at the center and receive the Friends of Kettunen Center newsletter.
Because Kettunen Center is a Michigan 4-H Foundation facility, your gift will also be recognized according to giving level through the foundation’s Clover Citation Program.
Sponsor Friends: $125–$999
Please consider becoming a sponsor friend of Kettunen Center to help support facilities renewal and program enhancements. Sponsor options include:
Sponsor a chair — $125
The Sponsor a Chair program supports the cost of replacing chairs at Kettunen Center. Recognition at Kettunen Center may be in your name; in honor of a family, friend or club; or in memory of loved ones. Download the chair sponsor form.
Sponsor a brick — $250
For a $250 donation, the name of your choice will be inscribed on a commemorative brick. Bricks can be donated in your name; in honor of a family, friend or club; or in memory of loved ones and are placed in a courtyard. Download the brick sponsor form.
Sponsor a bench — $500
Sponsoring a bench on the waterfront, in the courtyards or gardens surrounding Kettunen Center provides a place for people to rest and enjoy the outdoors. Download the bench sponsor form.
Major Gift Friends: $1,000 and above
Major gifts for Kettunen Center support the future of the facility and 4-H learning opportunities. Major gifts to the Michigan 4-H Foundation are also recognized by Michigan State University major gift clubs.
Tree of Life leaf sponsor — $1,000
The Tree of Life is displayed on the wall in the main lodge. To acknowledge a gift of $1,000 or more, your name will be engraved on a leaf-shaped brass plate and become a permanent part of the tree. Download the leaf sponsor form.
Sponsor a 4-H workshop — $5,000
Sponsoring a 4-H volunteer workshop helps to minimize the cost to teen and adult volunteers attending training opportunities and enhances the programming and educational capacity of Michigan 4-H Youth Development. Download the 4-H workshop factsheet and sponsor form.
Sponsor an educational program — $5,000
Kettunen Center’s educational programs combine its natural surroundings and contemporary education approaches, allowing children to learn through hands-on investigation and make connections across disciplines. Examples include 4-H TRACKERS, 4-H Learning Science Through the Arts Camp, and TREE (Teams Recreational Environmental Experience.) Download the educational program sponsor form.
Sponsor a room or space — $5,000
Kettunen Center residential and learning spaces can be sponsored with a major gift of $5,000 or above (sponsorship costs vary according to type and location of space). Recognition at Kettunen Center may be in your name; in honor of a family, friend or club; or in memory of loved ones. Room sponsors are recognized by a plaque on the outside of each lodging room door. Download the room or space sponsor form.
Other major gifts
You can also help by making a gift to the Kettunen Center endowment, creating a named endowment, or sponsoring a variety of physical spaces including Red Oak Hall guest suites, the main lodge and the development of outdoor learning spaces.

About Kettunen Center
Kettunen Center, the statewide 4-H volunteer training and youth educational center, is owned and operated by the Michigan 4-H Foundation. Located on 160 acres of forest and wetlands in northern lower Michigan, Kettunen Center has emerged as a premier facility for member and professional development for other non-profit organizations.
Each year the center hosts about 250 conferences that attract more than 11,000 visitors. Revenue generated from these conferences helps support the mission and vision of Michigan 4 H Youth Development.
